N. Hayes Avenue Street Reconstruction and Widening
Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, & Construction Staking Services
- Location: Fresno, CA
Scope of Work
The Hayes Avenue Street Reconstruction and Widening project involved roadway improvements along approximately half a mile of North Hayes Avenue, from West Ashlan Avenue to West Dakota Avenue, in northwest Fresno, California. The project was associated with the Tract 6234 residential subdivision developed by Lennar Homes and was designed to support the increased traffic demand generated by the new development while bringing the corridor up to current design standards. The work required careful coordination between new subdivision infrastructure and the existing public street network, so the corridor could accommodate future growth while continuing to serve current residents throughout construction.
PCE was involved in all aspects of civil engineering for the roadway improvements, guiding the corridor from initial investigation through design and into construction. PCE performed preliminary site investigations to evaluate existing soil and pavement conditions, then provided a comprehensive set of design services, including travel lane and median design, underground utility design, and signage and striping plans. Our team also coordinated dry utility installations with the serving utilities and, throughout construction, provided construction staking and construction oversight to verify the improvements were built in full accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
